Have you ever heard of a 2400 baud modem?  It is super slow compared to seamless home connections with up to 1 gigabyte speeds that we are presently offered from the top access providers.  2400 baud was the speed at which I first connected to the Internet in those early prehistoric days, back before the Internet was as seamless as it is today.
